I Luv employee MENDERIC takles the very funny science-fiction/comedy Innerspace. Innerspace (1987)
Martin Short plays Jack, a paranoid hypochondriac type, which suits him perfectly, as I'm sure it's difficult to subdue Short's spasmodic presence on the set of any film he's in. With a plot as extraordinary as Fantastic Voyage, Tuck (Dennis Quaid) is miniaturized inside a miniscule space-submarine capsule the size of an atom, and accidentally injected into Jack when a freak medical experiment goes horribly wrong. What's more, Jack is the only one who knows Tuck is inside him, and he's got 24 hours before his oxygen supply runs dry. The scene where Tuck convinces Jack to drink for the first time, so that he can intercept some Southern Comfort on the way down his gullet is a crowd pleasing favorite. The film has some stellar special effects that still impress 20+ years later, in fact if this production were made today, it would most likely go over budget, and end up just another throw away feature for some SNL alumni to crash and burn.
