I Luv employee MENDERIC takles the strange sc-fi/horror classic FIEND WITHOUT A FACE. Fiend Without a Face (1958)
There are many reasonable fears that arise when a nearby military base starts testing a nuclear reactor to power an advanced worldwide RADAR system: nuclear waste, cancer, two headed cows, low sperm counts, flipper babies, someone using dynamite in the control room causing a nuclear fallout. One thing we may have failed to take into consideration was a lesser known threat, a psycho-kinetic manifestation of nuclear enhanced thought power, or Mind Vampires! The invisible kind, that can suck your entire nervous system out like an egg through a small hole in the back of your neck, spinal cord and all. While the prospect of an invisible fiend on film might seem somewhat underwhelming (see Hollow Man), I'm sure that as an Eisenhower-era nuclear weapons scare film the Fiends terrified Times Square Theater nonetheless. If you can stick it out through the invisibility and brain sucking noises, once the fiends reach full maturity they materialize, and are quite a treat for any fan of classic sci-fi schlock.
