New Release Of the Week 11.17.09

This is gonna be a good week for a' watchin movies, I rekon.  We have almost had a three way tie for NEW RELEASE OF THE WEEK, but I'm afraid the new Star Trek movie edged the others out. 

But honorable mention goes to Brüno and Bakjwi (or "Thirst" in english, by the awesome director of the amazing "Oldboy")

                 Star Trek comes out this week. Now, I don't have a problem telling you nice people that I am somewhat of a Trekkie. So I was real suspicious that this movie would be a ginormous turd. WAY suspicious. Well, I'm happy to admit that I was totally wrong. It rules. 

Bruno also comes out in DVD this week. It's not as funny as Borat. But hell, that's not really even a criticism. It's got some crazy-funny moments

Chan-wook Park, legendary director of the Vengeance Trilogy, which includes the masterpiece Oldboy (2003), has a new movie out. It's called Bakjwi, but in here in America it's called "Thirst"

I can't wait to watch it.
