Summer Rental (1985)

It's summer time!!! So, I think the first VHS of the week should be Summer Rental. Who doesn't adore John Candy? Right?

Well, this often over-looked John Candy vehicle, directed by Carl Reiner, is a good way to get psyched for some summertime fun. Jack Chester (J. Candy), is an overworked air traffic controller that just wants to have the perfect family vacation. But guess what? Things don't go as planned, with HI-larious results. You also have John Larroquette in a bit part, Rip Torn as an old salt that helps save the day, a young Joey Lawrence as the son, and the first court clerk on "Night Court" as John Candy's wife. A good, clean, family vacation-disaster flick you should come rent.

0 #1 Mr. Pink 2009-06-21 23:37 I miss John Candy. When it's hot in Austin I like crank the air-conditioner, and watch a winter movie (something like Alive, Stranded, The Thing, Fargo, A Simple Plan, The Day After Tomorrow, Yeti, Nanook of the North, Dead Snow!, Cliffhanger, or DeathHunt, etc.) Y'all got any of those on Video Cassette Tape?
