The Austin Polish Society is excited to sponsor the Southwest premiere of Mr. Zanussi’s 2008 film, “Serce na dloni” or “With a warm heart”. Mr. Zanussi is an internationally acclaimed filmmaker and university lecturer at the Silesian University in Katowice, Poland and a professor of European film at the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland.
Mr. Zanussi will be at the film screening on Sunday, February 22. He will also be a guest lecturer at the University of Texas, College of Communication, The Radio, Television, and Film Department, (http://rtf.utexas.edu/). Mr. Zanussi will present on the topic “Modern Film Language” on Monday, February 23. The lecture is free and open to the public. Visit our web site: www.austinpolishsociety.org for details. About the film: “With a warm heart” is a dark comedy about Konstanty, a rich businessman, who finds out he has been suffering from a serious heart disease and only a quick transplant can save his life. While in the hospital Konstanty meets a young man named Stefan. Stefan has lost interest in living because of a job loss and an unhappy love life. Suicidal Stefan is an ideal donor and all he needs is a little help to leave this world. |
